What is Little Green Valley Music?
We are a family start-up located in lush Madison County, NY, specializing in music lessons, recording, song-writing, live entertainment and events. We began this project in order to pursue our two main passions: 1) creating the finest quality music and entertainment 2) engaging and supporting the local singer/songwriter community.
Who is little green valley music?
With over forty years combined experience in music and the performing arts, there is a lot to tell! We will try to stick to the salient parts:
Katie is a lifelong piano player and oboist, holding a Master's Degree in Oboe Performance from the Conservatory-College of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She has performed with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, the New Amsterdam Opera Co, Bare Opera Co in NYC and many other regional orchestras throughout the midwest and New York. Katie was an invited participant in the Global Musician's Workshop hosted by Yo-yo Ma and his Silk Road Ensemble.
In addition to appearing on numerous records as an instrumentalist and background singer, Katie is also an accomplished singer/songwriter herself on piano, ukulele and guitar. Her albums "Home" and "That's Where You'd Go With Me" are available online at all the media outlets.
As a musician, Valdaniel spent years honing his craft singing and playing in the subway tunnels of New York. He has taken his multi-instrumental,live-looping show into Colombia and Brazil, as well as many of New York City's esteemed music venues like The Bitter End, Caffe Vivaldi and Rockwood Music Hall.
As a theatrical performer, Valdaniel served as composer and actor in the rollicking "New York Stories" at the Triad Theater on Manhattan's Upper West Side and composer for a new iteration of Ianesco's absurdist play "Rhinoceros". His first original theater piece entitled "The PennyPan Cabaret" opened to great acclaim at the venerable Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the east village and his short play "Escape From Paradise", a favorite of the 2018 New York New Works Theatre Festival, premiered at Theatre Row's off-Broadway venue on 42nd St.
